Project Description

L&J Engineering received the original aerator at our machine & fabrication workshops from Welsh Water – Dŵr Cymru in a particularly worn-out state and, in fact, was broken into two pieces. We completely stripped the unit and after taking detailed measurements, we manufactured in-house a new drive end-plate and steel centre core tube.

We rebuilt the unit using a combination of reconditioned blades and new blades, which were sourced by L&J Engineering, before delivering back to the site at Coslech Sewage Treatment Works by low loader, ready for use.

We turned this project around and delivered the unit within Welsh Waters’ requested time frame, completing this work for 25% of the cost of a new aerator.
